My paintings are of life’s simple things. Common things, elemental things, things that sometimes go unnoticed. They are composed from light, shape, texture, color and by the feeling experienced with each visual impression. I paint almost exclusively in oils with a painting knife rather than a brush. I use many of the techniques of the Impressionists and many of my landscapes begin as plein air studies.
